You have to set your camshaft at a position of firing at number piston ,that is if the camshaft gear does not have a visible timing marks and in relationship with the crankshaft position it has to be position number one piston at TDC
The timing marks are marks on the front main pulley. The marks indicate when a certain piston is at the top of its stroke. You can turn the pulley to a certain position, aligned with the timing marks, and no that piston is at the right position to set the timing.
the cam must be on one with the destributer, look for 2 marks on destributer make sure that stay togetter and put piston #1 on top after check it out with a timing gun
The timing marks can be found on the front main pulley and the flywheel. The timing marks indicate when a certain piston is at the top of its stroke.
The timing marks can be found on the flywheel and the front pulley on the front of the engine. The timing marks indicate when a certain piston is at its top stroke.
how do i adjust my distributor for timing

The timing marks can assist a mechanic in setting the engine timing. The number one timing marks will set the number one piston so that the number one valve can be properly adjusted.
where are the timing marks on a ford ka 1.3 and how do i check the timing is correct
what is the firing order 4hf1 engine
Timing is probably off. Set number 1 piston at TDC and check the timing marks. If applicable, also remove cap from distributer and check position of rotor, it may need adjusting for correct timing.
line up timing marks from harmonic balancer and timing tab on timing cover
