I have a 91 also. First open your fuel cap to let pressure out of tank. usually you can put your ear close to the port where the gas goes in and have someone try to start the engine if the fuel pump works you will here a whirling sound in the gas tank. If you want to check for power to the pump...jack up back of car; support on something solid...and you will see the back of the gas tank with the 2 gas lines going into it ..that's the pump. Now dissconnect the two wire connector..get your volt meter set to at least 12volts DC. Put your test prongs into each hole of the connector. now turn the ignition key to on you should see a split second surge of current ..then continue to start car..you should see it go up in voltage again. now you know it's getting power. another test to check fuel pump is to pull the PCV hose off the valve cover and spray starting fluid or carb. cleaner into the tube. If car runs for a little bit and then cuts off you are pretty certain by now it's the fuel pump...which costs about 144.00 0r 147.00 at Autozone and Advance. Hope this helps right back and let me know...
