The first thing to do is go and buy the replacement bulb. Behind the headlight there is a round ring unsrew it pull out the bulb (which is attached to the wires). When you look at the old bulb base and your new replacement you will know what to do. Just unplug the old bulb housing and plug in the new.Putting the round ring and bulb housing back on can be a chore but it just just takes a little time.

A Starter is simple to remove... if you have the 2.5L engine, its just 2 bolts on the trans behind the engine and 1 below the starter... alot says the bolt that's below that you have to remove it from underneith, I never do, I always take all bolts out from the top.

Axle removal is really simple.
First break the Axle nut with vehicle on the ground.
Then remove the tire.
Remove ball joint clamp bolt. Its at the bottom of the steering nuckle.
(Note, if you are doing this by yourself its a good idea to remove the 4 bolts swaybar, 2 on each side of the vehicle and swing that down. And if you do have someones help, you need a long and heavy duty pipe so just lowering the swaybar bolts will save time and afew bottles of asperin)
Pop the ball joint. I usually just use a rubber mallet, it pops fairly easily.
Once that's poped the axle is ready to come out.
For installation, its basically the same thing here just only in reverse.

The tank must be removed to take the pump assembly out of the tank. You should also take the tank out to clean the interior or the new pump might be damaged by debris in the tank. The tank should be nearly empty then remove four screws holding the filler pipe inside the gas door. Remove wire connectors on pump and gauge sending unit. Remove two strap nuts and remove tank out the rear.
Gas tanks are dangerous. Even an empty tank can have fumes that explode. It might be better to have the tank cleaned by a professional shop.

If a starter relay or solenoid is bad, usually you will only hear a single click when you turn the key to start the engine.

Usually, most vehicles have a decal [or sticker of some sort] inside the engine compartment, or the underside of the hood.
This label shows the pulleys and the routing of the belt. Carefully read [and if covered with oil and grime, clean all hard to read labels with a shop towel or rag] all labels inside your engine compartment until you've found the right one.
IF for some reason there is not a label in your vehicle, I have used one or more of the following:

i have a 95 Spirit and have the same problem. It is getting power to the radio (back lit, and tape player will rewind, but the clock display doesnt work, and the radio doesnt work (which sucks). Sometimes it will turn on when I start my car, but once the car is running, there is 0% chance of the radio coming on, even if I start banging around the radio. THis leads me to believe that is not a loose wire, but something in the ignition? Any input would be appreciated!
I to had the same prob with the radio in a 90 Caravan which also carrys the same radio setup as the Dodge Spirit... its a short in the radio that aventually developes... theres nothing wrong with wiring... i took the radio setup out of my 92 Spirit (cause trans went out) and put it into the Caravan and still works fine, so its not a wiring prob... just a prob with the radio itself.

1) Remove timing belt cover and Valve cover. Remove all spark plugs. 2) Turn crankcase (with socket and ratchet) until #1 piston is at Top
Dead Center (A Screwdriver in #1 Spark plug hole will show top) 3) Rotate overhead Cam until intake and exhaust valves are closed over # 1 cylinder. 4) align - intake valve begins to open when piston begins to travel downwards (Intake Stroke). IE: Intake - Compression - Power - Exhaust

Depending on how old the car is I.E mileage. It may be a head gasket issue. Right around 100000 miles the head gaskets "go"
I have a 95 spirit and noticed after a VERY short amount of time/driving (quicker in hot weather or faster speeds) the temp gauge would skyrocket and my check engine light was coming on.
Well my head gasket was in bad shape causing me to lose oil and the engine getting too hot. Pricey repair too.

REMOVE THE TIMING BELT UPPER HALF COVER, TAKE THE NUMBER 1 SPARKPLUG OUT, TURN THE CAM SPROCKET UNTIL THE SLOT IN THE CAM SPROCKET IS ALIGNED WITH THE TOP CENTER OF THE HEAD OR VALVE COVER. LOOK AT THE #1 PISTON TO MAKE SURE IT'S AT THE TOP OF THE SHAFT. TAKE OF THE DISTRIBUTOR CAP, THE ROTOR SHOULD BE POINTING TO THE #1 CYLINDER PLUG WIRE. WHEN ALL OF THESE ARE IN LINE, THEN YOU HAVE THE CORRECT TIMING. FIRING ORDER IS 1-3-4-2.

Push the lower seat inward towards the trunk and lift up. this will allow you to remove the lower seat. Once this is done you can gain access to the lower bolts for the back of the seat. remove these bolts and then lift the back of the seat up and out.
