Is there a service bulletin or recall for 1998 Chevrolet Blazer windshield wipers?

According to the related links below, intermittent wipers history of bad module under the hood upper driver side. Cost to replace just the part $80. or so. My mechanic soldered the wires back in place in module and saved me a bundle.

If you are having wiper problems intermittently, you may have a loose connector at the wire harness-to-wiper motor interface. My 98 Blazer did after 8 years. Under the hood, at rear of engine compartment, near center, is the connector. Push it back in tightly, then put a cable tie/zip tie/ Ty-wrap on it and tighten carefully. Putting a wire around it and twisting the wire will last a little while, and then fail in a pouring rain like my first repair attempt. The cable ties won't creep loose.

You could also go to your local Chevrolet dealer and ask them to check your VIN, they will tell you if your car has any recalls on it, not only the wiper. They will do it for free.

Everything above is correct, but also note that GM had a big issue with wiper motors in all the trucks in that era, including the blazer, that all you needed to do is ground the motor with a separate wire (I usually did it from the cover bolt to the mounting bolt) and issue would go away. I know that some of them also had an issue with the PC board (Wiper motor pulse board) inside the motor that would get corroded and is a super easy fix, you can buy a new PC board for about $20, it is about 4-6 screws and it is done.

Why Wipers don't work on high?

Several possibilities are that:

1 the switch is bad on the high position.

2. There is a problem with the high speed wire from the switch to the motor.

3. The wiring inside of the wiper motor for the high speed is bad.

The way 2 speed wiper motors work is there are separate windings inside the motor for low and high speeds. Usually 2 wires come out of the motor for low and high and the common ground through the wiper motor body to the chassis of the vehicle. You apply 12v to one wire and get low and 12v to the other one for high speed.

How do you change rear wiper blade on 2006 suzuki swift?

There will be a little tab that you press and then pull the wiper blade down out of the hook of the arm. The new one snaps right back in.

The replacement wiper blades will come with step-by-step, illustrated instructions and once you have the instructions and the wiper blade/arm in your hands and in front of you, it will all make better sense and will an easy maintenance task. Very simple and takes 5-15 minutes usually not requiring any tools.

The 2006 Suzuki Swift takes a 14" or 15" rear wiper blade (either fits). When buying windshield wiper blades be sure to always use the application guide book at the store or now-a-days you can Google 'lookup wiper size'.

You want to look this up because correct wiper fit is more than correct length, it's also proper attachment. Not all attachments fit all arms. Using the application guide or looking up wiper size online will avoid headaches of buying the right lengths with the wrong attachments.

If in your budget, upgrade to the newer-style frameless "beam blades" which perform better than conventional framed wipers. I use Trico NeoForm Beam Blades which are fantastic.

How much does a car passenger window cost?

That depends on how much you want to spend.

A new window can be quite expensive, but a USED window can be relatively inexpensive and in general, a good way of repairing a problem.

Glass doesn't typically "wear out", so a used side window will function as well as a much more expensive new one.

I recently purchased a 1994 Saturn drivers side rear window for $35. It functions as well as a new one and after it has been installed, it's virtually impossible to tell the difference between new and used.

That vehicle doesn't show up in aftermarket wiper application books so most likely its Audi proprietary. Most likely its super easy once you get the correct wiper blades. Then, off to the Audi Dealer for parts at a minimum (if you figure out the process) or possibly the entire service procedure...sorry.

Condensation is the 'condensing of water/water vapor already within your car. Caulking the windshield, inside or out, will NOT stop condensation.

How do you change wiper blade on 2006-2010 Mercedes-Benz ML350?

Its easy but you have to make sure you have the correct replacement wiper blades. The 2006 Mercedes-Benz ML350 has the newer style and more rare "pinch tab" wiper arms. See sources and related links below for installation videos. Also, purchase the replacement blades first and there will be additional instructions/illustrations on the replacement packages - note that not all wipers will fit on pinch tab arms so be sure to reference the make, model and year of your vehicle for the brand wipers you choose to purchase. Pinch-tab compatible wipers are a little bit trickier to find. Locate and press the tabs where the wiper blade meets the wiper arm then tip or rotate the wiper down out of the tab attachment, then rotate slightly so you can remove the little hook at the end out of the hole. The video below shows this in the reverse order but you'll get it.

Chevy Monte Carlo

How do you replace the water pump on a 1996 Chevy Monte Carlo Z34 3.4L?

This is for a 93 Z34 3.4, I believe the front cover is the same for both engines, making the water pumps identical. REMOVAL: Drain the cooling system into a suitable container. Slightly loosen the four 10mm bolts holding the water pump pulley in place. Take note of the way the accessory belt is routed. Use a large wrench to rotate the belt tensioner away from the belt. Remove the accessory belt. Carefully release the tensioner. Remove the bolts holding the water pump pulley in place and remove the pulley. Remove the water pump housing bolts and extract the water pump. Have a bucket handy in case anymore coolant comes out when you pull of the pump.

INSTALLATION: Install the new water pump with a suitable sealer on the gasket. Tighten the mounting bolts. Make sure the pump shaft spins as easily as it did when it wasn't installed. If it is binding, take it off and figure out why. Attach the pulley and firmly hand tighten the pulley bolts. Line up the accessory belt and rotate the tensioner to get it fully on. Release the tensioner. Now make sure to fully tighten the pulley mounting bolts. Start the car, let it warm up to operating temp and check for leaks. You're done!

How do you install a wiper switch on a 1992 Ford Taurus?

I once had a wiper problem with my 1992 Taurus and it turned out to be the wiper control module. There is a web site that tells you how to check the entire wiper system from the fuse block through the module, steering column switch and motor using a multimeter. I was able to trace my problem down and repair it using the instructions from this web page; I'm looking for it now but can't locate it. The control module is a troublesome item on these cars though you may think it is the switch on the column lever. The module is located under the dash, close to the center and can be removed by simply sliding it from it's bracket and unplugging it from the wiring harness. It is a black plastic box about 4" X 4" and about 3" thick that contains mechanical relays and will make audible clicks when moving the wiper switch through it's settings. These modules were manufactured in Brazil (I believe) and many developed intermittent broken contacts due to what is called "cold solder joints". You can actually repair these modules rather than spend $65 to replace the part. Simply look at the circuit board for dark areas where there should be smooth solder joints and resolder them. This was invauable information for me as I had tried a new motor and that didn't fix the problem. In checking the wiper module, which I found on the other side of my dashboard (in a F150 pickup), I immediately saw the cold solder joints. I reinstalled the module, but much to my dismay the wipers still didn't work. It turned out that the motor WAS bad and probably the reason the cold solder joint showed up (drawing more than normal current). Thanks to the guys above! - Pete

Can you use a toggle switch to turn your windshield wipers on and off?

Yes you can. I did it to my 91 s10 however you wont have control over your wiper speed since its only a two position switch on/off. I have a 3 position switch on/off/on one for slow and one for high however I have not tried this out yet.
