What is the valve clearance specifications for Isuzu 2.3l engine 4ZD1?
Valve Lash Adjustment On
1986-92 Isuzu 2.3 & 2.6L Engines
AERA member have expressed some confusion on the correct valve lash
adjustment procedure on 1986-92 Isuzu 2.3 & 2.6L engines. It appears that previous service manual information may lead a technician to an incorrect adjustment.
The service manual indicates that valve lash on the #1 cylinder should be adjusted when all timing marks are lined up. The camshaft however, is in the valve overlap position at the number one cylinder. If the adjustment is made as indicated in the manual, excessive valve lash will result. These engines are actually timed off the #4 cylinder and those valves can be adjusted when all timing marks are lined up.
To correctly adjust the valves, first look to see that the cam lobes are pointing down in the cylinder you are adjusting. The correct adjustment is made on a cold engine and is .008 for both valves on the 2.6L engine. The adjustment for the 2.3L engine is .006 for intake valves and .010 for exhaust valves.

Or, if you're like me: 1.)buy a roll of the EXPENSIVE black electrical tape at Home Depot or Lowes. 2.)Carefully cut a square just big enough to cover the O2 indicator. 3.)Apply liberally. Good luck, and congrats to you if you have enough spare time to take the dashboard apart every 90k! 94 Isuzu Pickup O2 sensor light I followed the Amigo instructions below for turning off my pickup o2 sensor light and BINGO! It worked smoothly! It takes a little bit to get the dash apart. I had to reach behind the instrument console after I took the face off and pull the speedometer control cable off. Then it was as easy as below... 94 Isuzu Amigo, O2 Sensor Light Like most everyone else my O2 Sensor Light came on at 90K miles. I replaced it and the light would not go off. I disassembled the instrument cluster and looked for the "A" and "B" screws. In short my instrument cluster wasn't marked that way. I traced one side of the O2 lamp out and it went to a screw marked "KSW" there was also an empty screw hole marked as "KSW" almost directly opposite it with a dashed line imprinted in the circuit board between the two. I took the screw out of the 1st "KSW" and moved it to the 2nd "KSW", reassembled the gauge cluster, started the vehicle and the O2 light went out. Sure hope this helps out any 94 Isuzu Amigo owners with this repair. 89 Isuzu Pick-up, O2 Sensor Light Q: I have an

The flasher relay in plugged into the black colored section (top) of the interior relay block. This block is located to the left side of the steering column under the dashboard. It helps to remove the plastic cover (knee bolster) below the steering wheel (5 screws) to see the block and relay. The relay block is placed behind and higher than the fuse block. The face of the relay block faces towards the steering column so you will be pulling the flasher relay towards the column. Cheers

How do you replace Rodeo oxygen sensors?
They just screw into the exhaust pipe. There are clips that keep the electrical connectors in place, you will have to pry those out, but it should not be a problem. Then all you do is screw the new one back in, and press the clip back into the hole for the elec. connection
Well, i am in the process of changing the sensor as we speak...and i am dirty and hot (yuma, september, over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, shoot me).
I bought my new sensor from Autozone where they were about 50-55 dollars. A sensor connected to a cable with 4 loose wires and a few more parts which would complete the plug (which you build yourself).
My cables from my sensor lead up to a connector which had a perfect fitting plug on it...which was different that the new one though...so replacement in unavoidable.
I just can't get to the rest of the plug to fit the new connectors on. there is some sort of cover (metal, sharp edges) covering the cables. So, i am now off to remove such plate and get to the cable to place new connectors...
Don't do it yourself but pay a mechanic 40 bucks...that's what it's worth.
First guy was right, they just screw in and out. Go back to autozone or checkerauto and you can rent an "oxygen sensor" wrench/ratchet kit. (once you return the kit autozone will refund all your rent money). The kit comes with a dozen different sized and shaped sockets that will fit over your oxygen sensor to help pull them out easy. (my oxygen sensors were covered with dirt that I had to scrape off first, because I go off roading a lot). Make sure you buy the oxygen sensors that already come with the attachment clip for the wires (this will save you lots of time and frustrations) they're only a few dollars more. Before you screw the new oxygen sensor back into place, you should probably put some RTV sealant around the washer. You can get that at autozone too. It comes in a tube for a few dollars. Make sure you get the RTV sealant marked "sensor safe" or "wont harm oxygen sensors" and also that it has a high heat tolerance.

How do you adjust the valve clearance on a 1994 Prelude 2.3 engine?
You need to take the valve cover off and set the engine to TDC for #1 and then TDC for #3 and so forth. you NEED a set of feeler gauges, you need the repair maunal to find the proper adjustment clearnces unless it is on your car's engine decal under the hood. (rule of thumb, adjust the valves when engine is under 100 degrees, also there should be a SLIGHT drag of the proper feeler gauge when the its set right.)
What is the timing gear setting for 1994 Isuzu pickup Do the arrows line up or face the other way?
I'm not sure what engine you have but on the 4ze1 which is what I have in my trooper having the arrows face both up (cam gear and crank pulley) means the engine is in tdc for the number 4 cylinder. If the arrows are facing one another it is tdc for number 1 cylinder.
What are the timing marks on a 92 Isuzu pickup with a 2 6 fuel injected engine?
There are three marks to line up... before you remove the lower timing belt cover there are the marks on the little gauge that is integrated into the cover that line up with a mark on the main crankshaft pulley (to actually time it while the engine is running) there are also marks on the camshaft sprocket (big sprocket at the top of the engine seen with the upper timing cover removed), that lines up with a white mark on the upper rear plastic timing cover. And finally if you replace the timing belt there is a mark on the crankshaft sprocket that lines up with a mark cast in the face of the aluminum engine block. mnemonic76 1988 Pickup owner
