I lined up the marks that i could see,...it started ok ..but number 1 cylinder has 0 compression... figures it bent a valve when the belt broke
because you will do major damage to valves and pistons. they will all need replacing . or at worst engine replacing
This engine does not have a timing belt, it is gear-driven. Possibly, you have broken gear teeth, causing the timing to be out of order.
the timing marks are located next to the top left side of the crank pulley
The 2013 Honda Accord has a timing chain. This is new for the Honda accord in 2013, previous years Honda Accord had a timing belt.
no you dont have to remove that, only the crankshaft pully, the upper and lower timing chain covers, and the two belts.hope that was helpful as i had to figure it out on my own when replacing the rear main seal.
2001 accord is a timing chain
In a 2002 Ford Ranger : The 2.3 liter DOHC four cylinder engine has a timing CHAIN
A 91 accord has a belt..
A 1989 Honda Accord has a timing belt.
Changing the timing belt will cost approximately $600. A broken timing belt can ruin your entire engine, of which will cost many times more than the $600.
In my '87 accord, replacing the water pump was a big ordeal at the shop - $550 was a bargain price for the job. it involved the same work as replacing the timing belt - which was only $50 extra at that point. Not that this is a specific answer, but the point is that it's hard. Rick
The 4 cylinder 2006 Honda Accord has no timing belt and has a chain instead that normally requires no maintanence. However the V6 Honda Accord has a cam belt that must be replaced every 110,000 miles or 10 years whichever comes first. Warning:The V6 Accord is an interfernce engine.
