have found the problem..the computer was not getting ground to complete the circut..
Assuming it started before the starter was replaced, the starter and/or starter wiring are not installed correctly.
There could be a bad sylanoid or a bad starter...
Probably starter needs to be rebuilt (worn brushes) or replaced Bring to an auto parts store to do a load and draw test.
That wouldn't be your starter, it would be your clutch, get it replaced before it burns out or becomes stuck
There are several wires that must be removed from the existing starter before it can be replaced. The wires need to be taped and labeled so that they can be put correctly back on the new starter. The old starter needs two bolts to be taken out to put the starter in.
Starter needs to be replaced. Before you run out and get a starter you may not need, check the connections at the battery, gound and at the starter. Look for corroded green wires ot lack of tightness.
before use
I have a 1996 Firebird and it has 4. Two in the manifolds and one before the catalytic converter and one after.
It is in the ducting before the throtle body.
That's just it it didnt work one morning starter got replaced because thought that was the problem. Today we put the new starter on but it is still having same problem as before. Now we are going to change the cap and roder because they are really looking badProblem with the problem"Your 99 Tahoe "wouldn't turn over" the other day, was it running ok before this problem? - "had starter checked and it was bad" So you replaced the starter ?? Ok you replaced the starter and it should haved turned over and cranked up, but you added a new old problem = "but it still wont fire" When trying to start it and it sounds like back firing out of the air box? You gonna tell us the whole story like you used jumper cables and reversed them when trying to figger out the bad starter problem. need more info.
Your starter is getting ready to go out. It is best to get it replaced right away before it completely goes out and leaves you stranded somewhere.
I would say you have broken teeth on it, or your battery may be getting too low, while your key is in the ignition in the on position, take a screwdriver and touch the B+ wire on the starter solenoid ( may take a few tries but should start)! I would also advise that you get it replaced!
