have found the problem..the computer was not getting ground to complete the circut..
Assuming it started before the starter was replaced, the starter and/or starter wiring are not installed correctly.
There could be a bad sylanoid or a bad starter...

Starter needs to be replaced. Before you run out and get a starter you may not need, check the connections at the battery, gound and at the starter. Look for corroded green wires ot lack of tightness.

I have a 1996 Firebird and it has 4. Two in the manifolds and one before the catalytic converter and one after.
It is in the ducting before the throtle body.
That's just it it didnt work one morning starter got replaced because thought that was the problem. Today we put the new starter on but it is still having same problem as before. Ok you replaced the starter and it should haved turned over and cranked up, but you added a new old problem = "but it still wont fire" When trying to start it and it sounds like back firing out of the air box? You gonna tell us the whole story like you used jumper cables and reversed them when trying to figger out the bad starter problem. need more info.
