First check the belt. It should not be cracked,loose or have oil on it.If ok check the tensioner.The belt should be tight.

On the ( 4.0 liter V6 engine ) the oil pressure sending unit is on the drivers side of the engine below the power steering pump on a 1997 Ford Ranger ( On the 2.3 liter four cylinder and the 3.0 liter V6 I don't know where it is anybody else know ? )

Sorry, no fuse. Sounds like the pump or it's drive belt went out. Might also be a seal of a broken hose. You need to have a mechanic look at it ASAP.
If anybody were inside the wreck while sinking, they would have died in the first minute from extreme pressure.
