I would have that battery tested. May just be a dead cell and most places don't check that without you asking them to.
I just had the very same thing happen to me yesterday. My truck had been making that noise for about 2 weeks and then yesterday I went to start my truck and it died on me. My husband put in a new battery and it started right back up! It's alive!! If it is not your battery then it could aslo be your starter, but have your battery checked first. I hope that this helped:)
Could be a short in the wiring of the actual starter motor!! The starter motor is the first piece of electrical equipment after the battery.
Your starter solenoid is sticking. Replace the starter solenoid and you should be good to go.
There are two posts on the starter solenoid when the starter is in position the top one is for the positive battery cable. The bottom one should have a very short cable that enters the starter casing. I just replaced the starter in my 98 mazda protege yesterday.
Sounds like the starter is bad, More precisely, the starter solinoid. Its on the starter unlike A Ford that has it on the inner fender.
ur battery or starter needs to be replaced
Mainly it is for the starter motor. Once it's running, it's quite common that a car will keep running from the alternator even if the battery is dead. But without being able to use the starter motor, getting it going is quite tricky.
It can be a bad starter, but it can be a corroded battery cable. If you know the battery and cables are good, remove the starter and have it tested at most auto parts stores. It can be a bad starter, but it can be a corroded battery cable. Wired incorrectlyor defective starter solenoid that stuck in closed position
no the charging system consists of the battery and the alternator. the battery being the starting point of the system. the battery provides the initial power. the alternator then keeps your battery charged while the motor is running. the starter gets its power from the battery but has no relation to the charging system. the starter has but only one function and that is to power up upon initial start up and turn your motor over to get it running. hope that helps you out a little bit.
Discharged battery possibly or trouble with starter.
could be you starter solenoid. The part of the starter that the cable from the battery plugs in. Experienced something like that on an old car that I had as a teen. Jay is the name
