not many good options here sometimes you can put just main bearing kit in for 150 or so parts and 200-300- labor might be better to find junkyard engine is your car 5.7 worth fixing or 4.3 maybe not good luck

Have you been getting regular oil changes? Always keeping up on your oil changes are extremely important, and failing to do so severe engine problems like these. I could ask if you are using premium gasoline which is required for Preludes, but they have knock sensors so you don't have to worry about that.

It means that the engine was damaged when the oil was low. Main and rod bearings ride on a thin film of pressurized oil. If the engine is run without enough oil to create that pressure, it can cause damage to the bearings and wear on the bearing surface causes pressurized oil to leak out. Once that starts, the oil pump is not capable of keeping up a high enough volume of oil and you start getting knocking and low oil pressure. In other words, once that starts, the engine is pretty much done.
