You could have a severe vacum problem, check all vac lines, make sure they are not cracked, sucking air, or so soft they close off...if you think you have a fuel problem check the fuel filter, maybe you picked up some bad fuel and has plugged it up. Try using a good inj cleaner such as Seafoam or Techron, it may help clear it up...

The 2001 Chevrolet suburban does not have suspension lubrication points. The squeaking noises you hear is an indication of the shocks needing replacement.
While the bolt ons are the same the frame itself is different in the side profile. These vintage pickup frames dip down for the cab floor only, then slope up below the seat and bed. The Suburban frame dips down from the front floor all the way back to the rear axle. Wheelbase is different too.

You'll need to drop the fuel tank. It's pretty simple after the tank is down. just make sure you keep dirt and mud out of the tank when you pull the old one out.
It may not be designed to fold down.
