This is a classic sign of a bad fuel pump on GM cars. They will work intermitent and then once they get hot they fail. Then once they cool off they work again.
Check the timing for the 90 Corsica. the most likely cause for the engine not starting is it has jumped time causing the engine to fire at the wrong time.
Have you checked the fuel pump? It sounds to me like it is getting hot after running for so long and starting to shut down.
Try a higher octane gas and see if that helps Your engine may be getting too hot. Check to see if your radiator fan comes on. or Take your Ignition Module to an autozone and have it tested.
