Make sure you did not put it in backwards.
Did you change the fuel filter?
Your car seems to be getting too much fuel, is it computer controlled?
Im not positive on this but my 99 contour just gave me the same code and it seems like either my battery or alternater needs to change going to try both tomorrow if it works ill let you know that was code number p1132
start by disconneting the fuel filter on the engine side then turn the key if there is no fuel getting through then it is a clogged filter. if tht is not the problem then your screwed. start by disconneting the fuel filter on the engine side then turn the key if there is no fuel getting through then it is a clogged filter. if tht is not the problem then your screwed.
have you checked you fuel filter lately?
No. The chipped ignition key did not start until the 1998 model year and was only on the 6 cylinder Contour and Mystique. (I've got a '97 6 cylinder Contour that seems to have a chip in the key.)
A leak in a vacuum hose, is one possibility... a clogged fuel filter is another.
It's underneath the glove compartment. I think when I replaced my filter, I had to take the plastic piece on the right off. It's the piece that runs along the bottom of the doorway. That seems kind of confusing, but I think that's what I did. Hope that helps!
I had a problem like that in my 94. I replaced the spark plugs, plug wires, fuel filter and the oxygen sensor. The miss I had was the spark plugs and the hesitation (running out of gas) was the oxygen sensor causing it to run way too lean.
Same thing happened to me. 92 Sierra 5.0, it was the ignition control module ~$50.00
That seems to be German for " fan-jet filter ".
Do you have the gas filter replaced every 25-30K miles. It could be getting clogged, then unclogged. Have dealership check fuel pressure at intake manifold, I believe should be 55psi. If not could be wearing out.
