i don't know if this will work but i am changing the wheel bearings on my 97 Malibu this weekend and i know that an abs sensor is located on the front bearings....my abs light is also on.... my bearings definitly need work so hopefully i can knock out to birds with one stone
Repair the ABS system so it functions.
Carefully!!! You will need to pressure bleed the system and it will require a scanner to reset the light.
The ABS will not function if needed and the ABS light will remain illuminated.
I push the ABS button and it goes out. When it is illuminated it normally means that you have turned it off. Check your manual for specifics.
Assuming you mean ABS light, the ABS (Anti-lock Brake System) light is on because the ABS module detects a problem with the ABS system. The light will remain on until the problem is fixed. As long as the ABS light is illuminated the ABS system will not function.
the amber ABS light indicates a problem with the ABS system, not the main braking system. but the main braking system is working.
Bring to a shop that has an ABS scanner to determine problem or clear codes
Your normal brake system is fine but your anti-lock brake system has a problem. They are two distinct and different systems. You may or may not have a functioning ABS. Have your ABS checked by a professional. Not a DIY repair.
you have to fix the problem or the light will just come back on until you do.
Fix the problem causing them to be on.
Bring it to a shop that has an ABS Scanner
On a VW Jetta 1999 the ABS light won't turn off. Does the ABS system needs servicing or is it a sensor that needs to be replaced?
