The Full Load Amps, FLA is a rating for each winding of the motor. In this case the motor actually needs 4 amps running through it. As current needs to go somewhere (perferably not to ground) the 4 amps will circulate on you 2 Hots, the neutral isn't needed. 4A in, 4A out.

What are transformers rated?

A transformer's capacity is rated in volt amperes(V.A). This is the product of the secondary winding's current rating and voltage rating.

Is 9 amp drill as powerful as 14 volt?

Your question is similar to: "Is an apple more powerful than an orange?" You are comparing two different parameters. Electric Power = Volts multiplied by Amperes = Volt-Amps. To know which drill is more powerful, you need to compare the Volt-Amps of each drill with the other one. If the battery voltage is the same for both drills (it probably is not), then the one with the highest motor current rating SHOULD be the most powerful. However, manufacturers tend to fudge some on their ratings. When they say "This is a 9 Amp drill", often it is not clear or not defined what they mean. Is the battery rated for a 9 Amp output, or is the motor rated to use 9 Amps maximum, or 9 Amps average, or are the wires running from the battery to the motor rated for 9 Amps? You see what I mean. Electric power cannot be measured in Amps or in Volts, but must be a combination of the two (Volt-Amps, or Watts, or Horsepower, or some known and well-defined power quantity).

What size time delay fuse do you use on a 40 hp 230 volt 3 phase motor?

The electrical code book states that a 40 HP 230 volt three phase motor draws 104 amps. For that motor the wire must be rated for 131 amps, Non time delay fuses at 300 amps, time delay fuses at 175 amps or a 250 amp circuit breaker. When calculating wire sizes and motor protection the motor's full load amperage should be taken from the motor's nameplate.

How many amps are in a twelve volt motor?

That depends entirely upon the type of motor. A car starting motor may take a few hundred Amps for the short period.

How many amps does a Hayward 1 Hp Pool Pump Motor use?

1 HP = 745.70 wattsPower (watts) = Current (amps) x VoltsSo if you use a 110 volt system, amps = 745.7/110 = 6.779 ampsIf you use a 220 volt system, amps = 745.7/220 = 3.389 ampsFor a 12 volt system, amps = 745.7/12 = 62.142 amps

How many amps are in 40 volt amps?

Multiply the vots by the amps to find the volt-amps. Or divide the volt-amps by the voltage to find the amps.

How many amperes is a 150HP motor?

a 3 phase 415 volts 50 HZ 15 HP motor draws: 1. On no load 3.6 amp after a starting kick of around 18AMP 2. On a full load : a starting kick of 108 amp for few seconds and then18.3 amp. 3. On rated load(this means the motor is selected such that the load is 80% of the motor capacity) 14.64 amp with a starting kick of 88Amp.

Can a 240 Volt switch rated at 10 amps handle 30 amps at 12 Volts?

no a 240V switch rated at 30amps may work ok but could be a problem with a motor or coil if the switch is not dc rated chances are the 240V switch opens far enough to break a 30 amp arc, even if its not fast enough

How many amps will a 24 volt dc motor draw if running at 12 volts?

Depends on how big the motor is. A stronger motor will draw more amps then a weaker or less efficient motor. For example a wiper motor draws far less then a starter motor.

How to hook a 24 volt trolling motor to 2 12 volt batteries?

You would need to connect the two 12 volt batteries in series. That will give you 24 volts and the amps of one of the batteries. Voltage doubles and amps stay the same.

Fuse to protect 110 volt from 220 volt?

There is no such thing as fuses are rated in amps, not volts. a 10 amp fuse will protect against anything over 10 amps regardless of the voltage used.

How many amps should a 220 volt well pump pull?

The horsepower of the motor is needed to complete this answer.
