When a object on a planet spins with the planet, the spin of the planet is constantly trying to fling said object off into space, where as gravity is constantly forcing the object toward the spinning body. If the spin became so great that it overcame the gravitational pull, the object would be flung into space. While spin does not actually affect the gravity of an object, it can reduce the amount of gravity an object on the surface experiences.
