Backup files.
The files which store the copy of your original data are called backup files. In windows backup files are created by NTbackup utility and windows backup and restore utilities. These backup files have .bkf file extension.
Making a backup
you copy all the original files to a another hard disk or flash drive before formatting the disk with the original files
.bkf files are backup files are are created by windows build-in backup utility NTbackup or Windows Backup and Restore (in XP). These utilities support image-based full system backups.
Five type of backup they are :1. Normal backup - It copy all the files marked in to be backup2. Incremental backup - only those files that have been created or changed since last incremental or normal backup.3. Decremental backup - The only copies files that have been created or changed since the last normal or incremental backup4.copy backup - It copy all the files u have selected5. It is called backing up files. It is used in the event the original files are lost for some reason. That way there is a backup to fall back on.
The purpose of a restore utility is: to reverse the backup process and return backed up files to their original form.
