Not necessarily. A so-called "gag"order is a general term that applies to any order issued by the court which explicitly bars ANY party to a suit from discussing the suit with ANYONE under penalty of perjury.
A gag order means that a judge has ordered you not to talk about a topic in public.

Gag Order
Many jurisdictions use closed-circuit TV communication for the arraignment or preliminary hearing process. Also, (although done only in rare circumstances) if a defendant becomes unruly and/or displays violent tendencies in the court, the judge may order them removed to witness the remainder of the trial via TV as well.
Are you sure you don't mean a "GAG order?" A gag order is a judicial directive ordering you not to discuss your case, or anything to do with it, with ANYONE, except your defense attorney.
"If a divorce order stipulates that the defendant forfeits all benefits of the marriage and is responsible for all debts incurred in marriage Does the defendant have to sign the papers in order to sell?"
if the judge did not sign the gagging order then it should not be legal, but it is a point to question.
It depends on the wording of the order and what it is effect for.
To bring order to the court in a loud manner to an unruly crowd of spectators.
Illinois v. Allen :: 397 U.S. 337 (1970) It basically means a defendant has a right to be present during a trial, as per Constitutional rights, unless the defendant is disruptive. Then, the person can be removed and the trial go on without the person there.
