I was in this situation last year. I ended up doing both calling and texting, but it started with calling first. Everything seemed to be proceeding nicely and we seemed to be becoming close, but then she decided to pull back, lie to me about having a boyfriend when she clearly didn't have one, and said that the whole thing was a joke.
