S. government negotiated their treaty to advance the ideas of western expansion, not to protect the native people, but to increase the territory of the United States. also part of these treatys gave monastery payment to the native people, food stuffs, and other goods, so that the native people could live on the barron land, reservations were in areas that usually had poor hunting, poor soil, and could not sustain life, ergo the afore mentioned treaty agreement, the problem with this forced isolation was; the fact that once the native people were on the reservation, the American government forgot about them and the treaty they signed.
