Lizards can lose their tail and regrow it if captured by a predator.
Some (but not all) species of lizard have the ability to 'drop' their tails if they're captured (by a predator for example) - this enables the lizard to escape, and the tail usually grows back.
A bird predator is an animal that go after birds first, and if it caught one it eat the bird
drop its own tail
Bugs can be caught by reptiles, amphibians, ant eaters, and many more things. Cheetahs, lions, tigers, and many more big cats eat antelope and many deer forms. Big predator birds eat littler birds, mice, lizards, and many other small animals. These are sadly just a few.

It makes a high pitched honk when caught by a predator.
In reality, when a lizard is caught, it will get away by letting its tail come off. The predator is left holding a wiggling tail while the lizard itself runs for safety. So dreams about lizards often concern small problems that keep "getting away."

He saw an Indian get hit by a car when he was a kid and he thought the Indian's spirit was living in him and that the Indian was named the lizard king. The song peace frogs is about this. Actually.. he called himself this because he said what are Lizards good at? hiding? and what do they do when they don't want to be caught? they play dead.. when he got in trouble in Florida 40 years ago he fled to France and faked his own death.. like a lizard.. he ran and then played dead.. The most common self-defense for a lizard is running away. But some lizards do the opposite: they freeze when they see an enemy, counting on their camouflage colors or bright patterns to help hide them. A few species of lizards even "play dead." These lizards hope they will not be interesting to a predator if that predator thinks they are already dead.
if they are dead you know that they have suffered it
