What is the definition of a nursery nurse?

Answer: A Nursery nurse in the UK is a person qualified in the non-clinical care of babies and young children. Typically a Nursery Nurse will work in a public children's nursery where they will provide day care for pre-school children, sometimes babies, whose parents are at work. Tasks will typically involve supervising and facilitating play, seeing to children's toileting needs and mealtimes. Nursery Nurses sometimes work in neonatal units in maternity hospitals, where they will feed, comfort, wash, change nappies and otherwise see to the everyday care of newborn babies in the early weeks of life. In this setting they will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Where can you find nursery rhymes?

You can find printed nursery rhymes in any well stocked bookshop, or in a public library. My choice would be to download and print nursery rhymes for free off the internet: search for children's nursery rhymes. There are several websites that display nursery rhymes as videos - they proved a boon when my children and grandchildren were very young.

How old do you have to be to go to school in Nigeria?

It depends on the parents really. A child can start Nursery school at 2 years old and proceed to primary school at the age of 6 years old. (in a private school) but if public school, it would have to be 6years old. However, most parents can relatively afford to send their children to nursery school no matter how low the facilities of the school might be. So basically, its 2 years old OR 6 years old and education in Nigeria is compulsory and it is free at public school level.:)

When did home schooling first begin?

Home Schooling (may not have been called this) was started long before there was public schools in America or before this. From the creation of man until now it has been the parents responsibility to school their children at home. It is not a new concept or new idea, it has always been the parents responsibility to teach their children. Public schools were started to help parents provide a "quality" education for their children, but with many school systems failing in the education process today, many parents are reclaiming their rights to teach their children at home.
