This is a bit tricky. I was tempted to answer "Check whether your wireless is on". However, if you do "View wireless networks" you will not only see

  • whether your wireless is on, but also
  • the school's SSID,
  • what type it is and
  • if it is protected plus
  • you will be given the option to connect to it

and that makes it faster to connect to the school wireless network

How data can be transferred using wired and wireless methods?

This is assuming that there is no outside access to the Ethernet network such as a Internet connection. If there were then firewalls would be needed to prevent a outside intrusion of the network. In addition to physical access security, a wireless network requires authentication and encryption to prevent unauthorized devices from connecting to the wireless network or capturing and decoding the data that is being transferred via a wireless network connection. If the wireless network has outside WAN access then you would also need firewalls as with the Ethernet network.

Can you connect a wireless access point to a two-desktop wired network by cable and access a wireless laptop without connecting via the Ethernet port?

No, why would you? I suggest just buying a wireless PCI card for the two desktops. It would make life much more easier. You can, what you need is a wireless router... this will allow you to have approximatly 4 ethernet ports and wireless access to your network, but look in your manual to make sure you encrypt the data so as to protect from wireless predators...

How do you get a ssid number for a psp 3000?

An SSID is the 'name' for a wireless access point. There's no 'button' for it, but you might mean the option to scan for wireless access points, this is done on the network settings while configuring a network connection on the PSP.
