The dot-matrix and the daisy wheel both handle perforated carbon paper. There is a Brother printer that basically replaces the dot-matrix printer. The Brother can print up to seven copies. There is another alternative and that is carbonless paper. With that you can use ink-jet or laser printers, I believe certain models. That is your preference of either space or choice for laser or ink-jet. Carbonless paper makes 2 or 3 copies.
The answer given by 1birdman is not entirely accurate. It is true that one can use carbon and carbonless multi-part forms in both dot matrix (aka impact) and daisywheel printers but multi-part forms cannot be used in laser or inkjet printers in the traditional method of a single pass. The reason being that there is no pressure through which the printed image can be transferred to the other copies. The way that they accomplish this is by printing each form individually, so you can do this yourself by telling the printer to print two or three copies (or as many as you desire) when you send the print job.
My recommendation is the Okidata line of dot matrix printers. These are very reliable printers and have been used for years in locations in which reliability is required (such as in fire department buildings in which they print out the details of the alarm calls to which the firemen must respond). What's more, they are very easy to work on the rare occasions that maintenance must be performed. For example, to replace the printhead, all one needs to do is take off the top cover, open the fricton-fit retaining clip, and pull the printhead straight out.

You would want to have a clear copy of the invoice for both yourself and the customer. The better quality carbon paper will give you a clear copy. Otherwise, if what you write on the invoice (including the signature giving permission to do the work) is not clear, it really becomes meaningless.
All businesses, especially for-profit businesses, use invoices. In US payroll services, invoices are sent by contractors or consultants -- non-employee workers, whose income is then reported by way.to know how much money they have You would want to have a clear copy of the invoice for both yourself and the customer.
