Yes, any scientific theory can and will be rejected if evidence contradicts it, but it in this case it probably wouldn't be thrown out.
After all, we didn't just throw out Newtonian mechanics when Einstein came up with relativity, or even when quantum theory emerged. Why not?
Well both relativity and quantum theory contain Newtonian theory as an approximation. In fact, Newtonian theory for many purposes is an extremely good approximation. It is also much simpler to solve practical problems with, and so it is kept rather than just rejected. It is always understood under which circumstances Newton cannot be used, and which it is preferable to use Newton.
Like all accepted scientific theories, there is a general consensus amongst scientists across the world that there is enough evidence from observation and experimentation to support it.
Bomb produces energy in accordance with E=mc^2, which is part of the theory of relativity
Of course. As it is we already know both relativity and quantum theory must be updated to make them unify, we just don't know how yet.
The parole evidence rule applies when there is a (signed) written document that would be contradicted by oral testimony. In other words, "if it ain't on the papers, it ain't part of the deal."
New scientific ideas are accepted or rejected based on compelling evidence.
The journalist tried to discredit the politician's claims by presenting evidence that contradicted them.
Rather both. Evolution, the change in allele frequency over time in a population of organisms, is an observed and observable fact. The theory of evolution by natural selection explains this fact with overwhelming evidences from many different disciplines.
It will be replaced by a new theory when enough evidence is collected
Observational evidence
repeated .... nova net :))
Police will not be inclined to believe you if you contradict yourself while providing an alibi. They originally had no evidence to contradict the theory. The policies of the bishops may not contradict those established by the Vatican.
