In areas of low food, they will migrate to areas of more food. Also, they can go a long time without eating (over 3 months). Also, if the water is cold, they are pseudo-warm-blooded and can raise their body temperature by as much as 15 degrees C warmer than the surrounding sea water so they can move much faster than cold blooded prey and catch up with seals.

its amazing eyesight and ability to smell from very long distances, How they learn to hunt in a location where they have had success, how they can swim around with out using up much energy, or how they have learned to hunt a couple hours after sunset because the visibility is lower.
