No. this misconception stems from the fact that fats are the primary energy source during low level aerobic exercise. However, more success is always achieved with varying exercise and implementing a weight training program. "Cardio" as its name would suggest is great for endurance and heart, lung a vascular health but weight training makes you body more powerful, efficient and maintains body density and structure. although carbs are the primary source during anaerobic exercise, the total calorie expenditure is usually higher creating a caloric (energy) deficit. meaning that the body continues to burn fats up to 20 hours after doing weight training. vs merely during aerobic exercise.

as always, moderation is the key and a balanced program should be implemented.

What are some activities that include both aerobic and anaerobic exercise?

Actually, every exercise is at least slightly aerobic or slightly anaerobic. Aerobic exercise is exercise with oxygen, in other words, exercise that gets you breathing hard by utilizing your cardiovascular system. Running, jogging, swimming, and walking are examples of aerobic exercise. Anaerobic exercise is exercise without oxygen, in other words, exercise that does not get you breathing hard. Doing a single squat or bench press are examples of anaerobic exercise. Also, many anaerobic exercises can be made aerobic simply by doing more of them, for example, doing 50 bench presses or squats without pausing. ----
