Small intestine
Small intestine
The large intestine, also called the colon, comes next.
The esophagus is before the stomach and the small intestine comes after it.
Peristalsis. Organs contract behind the food and loosen in front of it, pushing it forward through the alimentary canal.
Food does not stay in the mouth for long before passing in to the next area. Food is broken down somewhat in the mouth by saliva and chewing before passing into the alimentary canal.
The alimentary canal (also called the gastrointestinal [GI] tract) is made of several segments, some of which are mentioned in the question. The GI tract begins in the mouth, which secretes important digestive enzymes and performs mechanical digestion. Next is the esophagus, which is merely a vessel for transporting mashed up food from the mouth into the stomach. The stomach secretes acid and enzymes that continue the process of digestion. Next is the small intestine, which contains three parts: duodenum, jejunum, and ileum. Digestive enzymes are added in the duodenum by the pancreas. These enzymes act in all segments of the small intestine to aid digestion. Next is the colon, which is broken down into the ascending, transverse, descending, and sigmoid colon. The colon plays a somewhat minor role in absorption of digested particles and water. Then is the rectum and anus, which don't play a significant role in digestion or absorption, but rather contribute to continence and bowel movements.
Stomach
what is next to the stomach end where this is end
It goes though the goldfishes stomach and is eaten and comes out in poop in the next 2days
The function of the liver is digestive; it does the next level of processing of food, after it has been digested by the alimentary canal.
Proglottids are the ends of tape worms that are shed as they mature and contain massive amounts of eggs. Once they exit the alimentary canal of the host animal they can be ingested by a secondary host and the reproductive cycle moves on to the next phase. If no immediate host is available the proglottid dries and hardens and the eggs can remain viable for years.
The stomach is an organ of digestion. It has a sac-like shape and is located between the esophagus and the intestines. There is a major organ group called the Digestive System, comprised of many sections including the alimentary canal in which is a storage bag, so to speak, called the stomach. The stomach receives food from the esophagus, adds various enzymes, churns the contents to mix, and the resultant chyme is then squeezed, so to speak, into the small intestine. As it is a part of the body, specialized in a particular function; yes, it is an organ, particularly as it uses muscles to churn and pass the product of its work (chyme) along to the next contributor to digestion, the small intestine.
