24 hours from time of fire. Most states have other rules as well. Such as if the accounting department is located off site or closed, they have 6 hours from the start of the next scheduled work day.
Also, some states allow employers to hold payment for up to 10 days if the employee was entrusted with company's money or property as part of their job.
