After being neutered my dogs scrotum swelled up and turned beet red His under belly has bruising also Is this normal The vet says yes I can't see this being normal?

This happened to my Dog when he was neutered too & I was told this is normal. However I did apply Sudocrem cream which you can purchase from your Pharmacist to the red area & kept a eye on it. If the swelling does not down in 48 hours make a Vet appointment. I forgot to add, try to apply a cold cloth to the swollen area before applying the cream every few hours to relive the swelling.
