Four chromosomes: through a process called meiosis, where the chromosomes are duplicated and then split into two cells each containing the same number of chromosomes that the parent cell started out with.

The daughter cells will be genetically identical to the parent cell, therefore each daughter cell will contain eight chromosomes.Yup I know what I'm talking about I'm a professer and gay

This would not happen. Mitosis results in both daughter cells having the same number of chromosomes as the parent cell.

What is the reason the cell undergoes mitosis when it makes another cell?

When a body cell reproduces, the purpose is to produce daughter cells that are genetically identical to the parent cell. Before mitosis, the DNA in the parent cell replicates, resulting in a doubling of the chromosomes. Mitosis separates the chromosomes into two new nuclei, identical to the parent cell. Then the cell divides by cytokinesis, producing two identical daughter cells, each with the same number of chromosomes as each other and the parent cell.

In mitosis if a parent cell has 16 chromosomes each daughter cell will have 8 chromosomestrue or false?

False. Each daughter cell would have 16 chromosomes just like the parent cell after mitosis.

In mitosis how many chromosomes are in each daughter cell?

It depends on the species--humans, for example, will have 46 chromosomes in each daughter cell after mitosis, while a dog will have 78. In mitosis, the number of chromosomes in each daughter cell is equal to the number of chromosomes in the interphase parent cell.

In Mitosis if a cell has 16 chromosomes how many chromosomes will each daughter cell have?

It depends on the process: mitosis or meiosis. If the cell is dividing through mitosis, then the two daughter cells will have 16 chromosomes; in meiosis, the four daughter cells will have 8 chromosomes.

If a cell has 12 chromosomes how many chromosomes will each daughter cell have after mitosis?

The desired result of mitosis is the division of a parent cell's genome into two daughter cells, therefore a parent cell must make a copy of each chromosome it posseses before mitosis. So, barring any errors, if a parent cell contains 12 chromosomes at the beginning of mitosis, each of the two daughter cells will contain 12 chromosomes at the end of mitosis.

A cell with a diploid number of 20 undergoes meiosis. this will produce?

It will have 4 daughter cells and 10 chromosome per daughter cell because the number of chromosomes you start with is doubled and then divided by four.

What will a nucleus with 46 chromosomes that undergo mitosis produce?

A nucleus with 46 chromosomes that undergoes mitosis will produce two daughter cells. The identical daughter cells will have 46 chromosomes each just like the parent cell.

Which chromosomes are found in a daughter cell?

Each daughter cell contains half of the chromosomes from the parent cell. Because the parent cell undergoes DNA replication before mitosis, the parent cell and the daughter cells will be diploid.

If a diploid cell containing 28 chromosomes undergoes meiosis how many chromosomes will each daughter have?

In mitosis, the daughter cells each have the same number of chromosomes as the parent cell.

Does mitosis daughter cells have the same chromosomes as the parent?

yes

If you compare the parent cell to the daughter in mitosis what can be said about their chromosomes?

the daughter cells' chromosomes are a identical to the parent cell. they each have a complete set

How many chromosomes does each daughter contain after mitosis if the parent cell had 52 original cell chromosomes?

Each daughter cell will have 52 chromosomes. This is because mitosis produces daughter cells which are genetically identical to the parent cell. Therefore they will have the same number of chromosomes.

What can you say about the number of chromosomes received by each daughter cells after mitosis?

The number of chromosomes that each daughter cell has after mitosis is equal to the number of chromosomes in the original (parent) cell.

False. Each daughter cell would have 16 chromosomes just like the parent cell after mitosis.
