The Hammond Multiplex was produced for many years starting from around 1913 and going until the late twenties. There were several different variations of the Multiplex and this will determine the value as well as condition. The common Multiplex is enclosed in a black metal covering and has a straight, three row keyboard. There are "open" and "curbed keyboard" variations as well. The common Multiplex in good condition is worth between 150 to 250. An open or curved model Multiplex can easily be 300+
Good luck!
I am not sure of the value, but from your description it sounds like a 1920s era Remington Desk Typewriter, likely oak.

The value of a typewriter depends on the model of the typewriter as well as the age and condition, but they can vary anywhere from $20-2,000. If you're lucky, antique stores and flea markets may have typewriters that you can get for a steal...provided the owner doesn't know what they have.

Generally, they can range in price from $50 to several hundred dollars, with vintage or well-maintained models commanding higher prices.
