Cool and dry.

I do not completely agree with the answer above. When air has more moisture in it, it is heavier. When it is colder it is denser and heavier. Air planes have more "lift" in higher humidity and hot air is what makes balloons rise.

In weather it appears that air is dry when the pressure is high...more rain when the pressure is low. That is a factor of weather patterns, not properties of air.

What layer is the pressure the highest?

The troposphere is the layer of the earth's atmosphere with the highest air pressure.

When is air pressure usually highest?

Air pressure is highest when it is cool and dry. It is lowest when it warm and humid. In high pressure, the sky is clear and dry, while in low pressure, the sky is warm and muggy and humid, which is where hurricanes can start.

What layer is the atmosphere pressure highest?

The troposphere is the layer of the earth's atmosphere with the highest air pressure.

Where on earth is the air pressure the highest?

The air pressure is highest in areas which are the coolestÊwhich leads to air sinkingÊand creating high pressure at the surface. The opposite is true for areas which are warmest. This causes the air to rise, making pressure at the surface lower.

Which altitudes would have the lowest air pressure and why?

The highest altitudes have the lowest air pressure. Air pressure increases as altitude decreases. Above sea level is lower pressure; below sea level is higher pressure.

Where would air pressure be the highest on a mountain?

At the base of the mountain.

How is earths air pressure different from seas air pressure?

It is different in that the seas don't have air pressure. No air; no air pressure.

How does air pressure affect air movement?

Air pressure affects air movement because air moves from high pressure to low pressure. The air pressure pushes or will press the air around.
