When I activate my car alarm, then return to deactivate it the alarm deactivates the door unlocks but when I open the door the alarm goes off and does not go off when I use the remote. Ater about 3 to 4 minutes of trying it finally goes off and I can then start my car. Is the batter need replacing in the remote or a fuse needs change? Does the alarm need servicing?

There is a switch on the left hand side of the steering wheel. The remote is not a standard alarm remote. It is on your key. I found that it is really easy to accidently hit this switch when cleaning then your remote will not work.

Your 1993 190e 2.6 alarm keeps going off for no apparent reason?
This is a common failure on 201 and 123 chassis. Check the hood switch is closing. Check the trunk closes fully. The drivers door lock is often faulty. If it still goes off, disconnect the alarm module...located under the passengers foot well relay cover. New modules are over $500.00.If you have an alarm that is set buy turning the key to lock the door you need to open the same door you locked to take the alarm off. If you unlock the passanger door, trunk or rear doors after locking the driver side door the alarm will go crazy. To get it to turn off, lock and unlock the door you first locked before the alarm went off.

i have a 1999 avenger and my alarm would go off for no reason at all so what i did was take out the fuses for the alarm and the horn and it seem to work. (fyi after doing so your alarm will not work) if your alarm goes off and you do not have a remote- put your key in the passenger side door and turn it to the left... it will turn off the alarm... OR I think i tried the passenger door and it would not work for me. I know that you can unlock the trunk and it will disarm.
