If you are wondering why this happens, it is completely normal.
When you turn your key all the way to start the car, all the warning lights will come on do perform a lamp test. Also, the computer runs a quick test on all the sensors in the car and on all the lights on the dash to make sure everything is operating properly, once you start the car, these lights should all go out.
If there are lights remaining lit on your dash, it may mean that your car needs to be serviced, always get warning lights checked if they come on while the car is running.
Hope this helps!
You have a flat battery.
You know your ignition switch has gone out when you turn the key and there is no click or any noise at all. If there is a click or other audible noise it is probably the spark plug or something of that sort.
A Switch can not breakLittle Kids can easily turn the lights on and offWe no longer have to get up and click the Light Switch
IGNITION SWITCH, UR RADIO'S SECONDARY POWER COMES FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH SO WHEN U TURN YOUR CAR OFF THE RADIO AND OTHER ACCESSORIES TURN OFF AS WELL.
Answer: Most likely battery (you probably surmised this already), however, it could also be a faulty ignition switch or poor connection at the starter or starter module/relay. When the key is turned, do the instrument cluster warning lights come on (& dim slightly)? If so, its not the battery.
Turn the lights on with the main switch - either side lights or driving lights are fine. With your hand/fingers stil on the main switch pull it gently back, the first notch/click is front fog lights only the 2nd notch/click is front and rear fog lights.

Drop the column down, & the rod that goes from the directional, has a push button switch on it. Click your directional on & off for your hi-beam lights & you'll see which one is working on the rod. It will go in & out, It's near the ignition switch.
Answercheck the solenoid wire at started for power when switch at start position. If no power, check neutral safety switch, or main ignition switch on steering column under dash.NOT the key tumbler assembly it has a rod that goes down column to the ignition switch
You most likely have a dead battery, or if the battery is fully charged maybe the electrical portion of the ignition switch could be faulty.
Can think of three things. #1 Starter #2 Ignition Switch. #3 Neutral safety switch On a fully charged battery . If you can hear any form of click in the engine compartment when you turn the key, its reasonable to assume the starter is bound and the switch as well as the safety switch are still working. How ever if you get no noise, and lights on the dash (if you have a manual check the switch on the back of the clutch pedal. But no lights on the dash, door chime etc or noise in the engine compartment then its most likely the Ignition Switch has fallen apart inside.
On the left lever, where you turn your head lights on, there is another rotating switch, it dims and brightens the dash lights. If you turn that switch till you hears click the light will come on
