I am not a psychologist, psychoanalyst or counselor, so the following is a non-professional opinion.
Even though this sounds like a simple question asking for advice, I'm afraid you really have to answer it on your own. This site can provide some thought processes. Don't reply, just think about the answers:
- What is the bad attitude about?
- Is the issue something that is illegal (whose laws?), immoral (whose mores?) or unsafe (who is/could be hurt?)?
- How is your attitude on this issue affecting yourself, your family, your friends and/or your community?
- What is the source of your attitude? (Politics, religion and sports can be troublesome.)
- Considering the grand scheme of things, is the issue so important to you that you could not change your own attitude?. It might not need an about-face. Perhaps a small tweak or adjustment might work.
Perhaps someone else here will have a better answer. Depending on the nature of this 'attitude', you might seek some advice from those who know you best instead of turning to a community of strangers.
