Click the Start button , click All Programs, right-click the Startup folder, and then click Open.Open the location that contains the item you want to create a shortcut to.Right-click the item, and then click Create Shortcut. The new shortcut appears in the same location as the original item.Drag the shortcut into the Startup folder.The next time you start Windows, the program will run automatically.
In some software programs, showing an underlined character is an indicator of the keyboard shortcut that will accomplish the same thing. It isn't the same in all programs, of course.

There is a simple method on Windows Vista to create a handy desktop shortcut. Assuming the file is already on the PC in question, click on the Start button, go to All Programs, and then find the file. Right click on the file and then select Send To and then the desktop. This will enable a shortcut.

The taskbar - holds shortcut icons to make accessing programs and files quicker than searching for them. It also (usually) displays the clock and the Start button.

In Windows, double-click on the Excel icon or right-click on the icon and select OPEN. On the MAC, single-click (MAC) on the Excel program icon (the same way you would open most other programs).

To access shortcut menus with a three-button mouse click the right hand/secondary mouse button. The shortcut menu will show up on the screen once you do this.
