You might be thinking of Oxygen, which is capable of bonding with itself to make O2. If, however, you mean two different atoms, you are mistaken. An element only has one type of atom; that's the whole very nature of an element. They're the most basic substances in the universe.

Is argon made of molecules?

No, argon is not made of molecules. Argon is a chemical element, and a sample of it is composed of atoms.

How is water and hydrogen different?

Hydrogen is an element whose atoms have 1 proton each. When not combined with another element it is a gas composed of diatomic molecules, that is a molecule with two covalently bonded atoms. Hydrogen gas is extremely reactive. Water is a compound composed of molecules consisting of two hydrogen atoms bonded to one oxygen atom. It is a liquid at room temperature and is much less reactive than hydrogen.

Is and atom and an element the samething?

No. Atoms are the building blocks of matter. Each element is composed of the same kind of atoms, according to their number of protons (atomic number). Molecules are composed of two or more atoms (they may be the same element or different elements), and compounds are composed of two or more kinds of atoms.

What is the difference between an element?

An atom is a particle the smallest of an element. An element is a substance made up of many atoms of ONE kind (or molecules consisting of two or more identic atoms)

Are particles in molecules?

Yes. Molecules are composed of atoms. Atoms are composed of particles.

Which element contains protein?

Elements are pure substances, consisting of atoms. They do not contain proteins. Proteins are molecules consisting of a chain of atoms.

Of pure substances diatomics are elements or compounds?

They are molecules composed of two atoms of the same element.
