On the one hand the Anglo Irish war was a good thing because it brought about the Anglo Irish treaty in 1921. On the other hand it was bad because many people were killed in the guerrilla warfare. Also it was bad because Michael Collins (one of the plenipotentiaries for the treaty) was killed as a result of the split of Sinn Fein.
