It is not considered to be bad luck to wear a Claddagh if you are not Irish. In fact it is considered good luck.
No, Anybody can wear it. The Claddagh ring comes from Ireland but it is not for Irish people only.
No you do not I'm half Irish
Irish people sometimes wear their wedding rings on the third finger close to the heart like a claddagh
The idea behind a claddagh is "eternal friendship" It is often given by the male fiancee to his female friend. I don't think it is exclusively female I have seen males wearing them, but quite rarely. 1 word of warning though, don't buy a claddagh for yourself!!
I have never heard that superstition. If you are married or engaged tradition states that you wear the ring with the heart pointing up the arm and if you are single the heart is out.I'm not familiar with that particular superstition but I have always been taught that it is very bad luck to buy the claddagh for yourself - that it should always be given as a token of friendship.Bad luck is just superstition it is not to , you should also belive in jesus and god because they stop bad luck .
Claddagh ring
Answer 1When you are taken you wear it with the heart towards you saying your heart is taken. When you are single you wear it the other way. You wear it on your right hand unless you are married._______________________Answer 2In friendship or single : on the right hand, with the point of the heart towards the fingertip.Engagement: on the right hand, with heart pointing to the wrist.Marriage: on the left hand, with heart pointing to the wrist.
You wear it following the same rules as a Claddagh ring. (with the heart facing out and the crown towards your body saying that you are single looking for love/ With the heart facing towards your body shows that you are dating) if you are not married, it is traditional to wear your ring(or in this case bracelet) on your right arm and move it to your left when you are married. Although I am from a strong Irish family, I choose to wear my bracelet on the left hand because it is solid gold and since I am right handed, it hinders my weighting sometimes. Or you can wear the bracelet just to show your Irish heritage or as remembrance for someone and not use it to show your romantic standing.
An Irish wedding tradition is to get married with a ring called a claddagh, the hands represent friendship, the crown royalty and the heart means love. Sometimes this ring gets passed down from a parent before the child is married, if this is so, you wear the crown facing in if you're in a relationship and out if you're single.
Not really. Irish wear a lot of green. A lucky clover is green. So,basically it means good luck. Also you might just be superstitious. love and peace funnygal709 :)Actually the phrase did indeed refer to Bad Luck. There's also a variation on Murphy's Law: 'If it can go wrong, it will. 'Tis the luck of the Irish."
Ireland's state color is Emerald-green and it also represents luck and pride in being Irish.
