The back and front are different and the calipers are removed different ways. Other than that they should be like any other brake.

It does not have brake shoes, it has brake pads. And, yes you will need a special caliber compression tool. You can borrow this tool at almost any auto parts store that sells pads. Just ask.

Yes, no special tools needed. A brake shoe spring retractor tool will make it easier.
No special tool. half inch socket and a 13mm. if you have a C-clamp or something to push the calibar back that's all ya need.
It is reccomended that one purchases or borrows the special tool needed to perform this otherwise difficult replacement.
