Sure do. That was "The Thing That Couldn't Die". They made fun of it in season 8 of Mystery Science Theater 3000.
In the "Hypnotized Hotties" segment of The Jerry Springer Show, the girls are typically hypnotized to perform humorous or outrageous behaviors, often tailored to entertain the audience. The hypnosis aims to elicit funny reactions or scenarios that play into the show's sensational and dramatic style. This segment highlights the absurdity of the situations, often leading to comedic interactions between the hypnotized participants and the people around them.
No, cats cannot be hypnotized by the human eye, but some people feel they cannot take their eyes off a cat's eyes because it can be mezmorizing although not hypnotizing.
Yes. Quite a few people have survived tornadoes.
Not everybody can be hypnotized. Nor should everybody. But in theory, yes.
Being hypnotized has a lot to do with "imagining things"! Hypnosisis an enhanced imaginative state during which critical and analytical faculties are suspended -the person being hypnotized allows him/ herself to be guided into a very relaxed, but hyperattentive state, wherethought is entirely focused on the hypnotist's suggestions. People with active imaginations who enjoy role play, fantasy etc, who are willing to follow instructions uncritically, are invariably the best responders to hypnosis. People whofollow a hypnotist's instructions while "imagining" whatever is suggested to them, are hypnotized.
People merely play the role of the hypnotized person and attempt to ignore the pain
All hypnosis is self hypnosis. So, so long as you have a way with words, and are able to manipulate people into believing what you're saying is true, they you will be successful at hypnotism. Basically what it boils down to is that if the person being hypnotized doesn't believe they can be hypnotized, they WILL NOT be hypnotized. Hypnosis does not tap deeper into you subconscious, or any of that BS, it's just really good sales men telling you "YOU CAN DO IT!"
Nobody hypnotized everyone, and it is entirely probable that nobody hypnotized anyone. Giving people drugs doesn't usually count as "hypnotizing" and that's what happened to Lysander, Demetrius and Titania. There is a point where Oberon, in order to listen in on Helena and Demetrius, says "I am invisible" and thereafter nobody can see him. Was this a result of hypnosis? Probably not. Puck uses some tricks to disguise himself when appearing to the mechanicals as a horse, hound, hog, bear and fire, and then again when he leads Demetrius and Lysander astray as a disembodied voice. Again, his ability to transform himself would appear to be magic, not hypnosis.
To hypnotize someone is to place them into a semi-conscious state much like dreaming. The hypnotist is able to suggest images and situations which the hypnotized person imagines and reacts to as if they were real. People are able to walk, talk and otherwise behave normally while hypnotized, but they are not conscious of their surroundings--it is like sleepwalking. When people come out of the hypnotic state, they have no conscious recollections of the experience, but can have unconscious ones if these are suggested to them while hypnotized. Such recollections are called "post-hypnotic suggestions".
There are many great advantages of hypnotism. People who are hypnotized are able to figure out problems that they didn't know they had for example.
For many years music has been known to have hypnotized people all the way back to the 18 hundreds.
Although sometimes it is staged, yes, they really do become hypnotized because hypnosis works. Also, you will notice them doing a few "tests" on the audience so they can find the best "victims" that will respond best to their hypnosis.
