Anyone know how to handle living with a problem gambler and what can be done to help them?

If you can establish the pathology, it might be possible to gain control of their finances and allow them a reasonable amount to pursue their pleasures. Short of that, there's not much you can do except offer to get them some therapy.
Don't bug them. It will do no good, and will simply erode your relationship further.

∙ 14y agoProbably the best thing you could do is to encourage them to join a group such as Gamblers Anonymous, bear in mind that if they don't want help it is usually a waste of time. Most people will not see themselves as addicted and will resist help.

∙ 9y agoYou can take your friend to a gambler's anonymous meeting so they can spend time with other people who are addicted to gambling. This is a great support system for people who need help quitting their gambling addictive behavior.
