Abdul Hamid Jawdat AL-Sahhar is an Egyptian author, novelist , story writer & a scenarist . He was born In Cairo in 1913. He studied at Fuaad I University & got his Bachelor in Commerce in 1937. Then he turned into a very different field. He started his career with writing short stories , then he turned to writing Islamic Literature. Here , he was widely known at the Arab world , as some of his works were turned into TV serials. He also worked in the cinema as a producer & scenarist . His first film was " The Pathway of Idiots". Then he wrote many novels which were turn into films as : "the Air Demons- the Other Half - My Wife; a Director General - the Grandson )

They fell out of fashion for a while in the 1990s, but were revived in the last decade with ABC's Desperate Housewives and current shows like Scandal and Revenge.In the UK, what they call a "series" is known in the US as a season of television, or one year's accumulated episodes. The UK also have soap operas, which they simply call "serials" (because of the serialize stories), but their most popular serials air in the evening, not during the daytime.
