With the same load current the AA will last longer that the AAA. This is due to the physical size of the cells. A C cell will last longer that a AA and a D cell will last longer that a C cell. In dry cells as the cells get larger the amp/hours increase.
The reason why 9V batteries are much bigger in their physical appearance than their AA or AAA counterparts is because of the fact that 9V batteries have to supply a greater current rate of electricity than the aforementioned batteries.
The D Battery has more nikon in it

Well the AAA will have more voltage, but the AA might have more AMPs per battery. you need to give more information about the batteries.
AA batteries typically last longer than AAA batteries due to their larger size and capacity to hold more power. However, the exact duration of battery life can vary depending on the brand, quality, and usage of the batteries.

Many or most two-way radios run on AA or AAA batteries. This depends upon when and where the radio was purchased, how many watts the radio has, and the development of rechargeable batteries; it may be worthwhile to purchase rechargeable AA or AAA batteries.
AAA batteries are rated at 1.5V as are AA-C-D batteries. Once down to 1.3V or lower they are not much use,
AAA, AA, C and D cells are all 1.5 volt, 500ma batteries of different sizes. A 9v batter delivers 9v at 500ma. Other batteries exist as well (hundreds of them) from watch batteries smaller than the diameter of a pencil eraser to huge batteries used to power the telephone company.
Rechargeable batteries come in various standard sizes. For example (AA, AAA, CR123A).
