No. However, processors labeled "AMD Athlon 64 X2" aredual-core processors.
Triple Edit: "Triple?" What does this mean? Triple core? There are Rana processors that are shipped as dual-core but have 3 cores on the die. This means that your answer is wrong. The most common examples are triple-core processors, but not all of them. As for actual examples, Phenom X2-X3 and Athlon X3 processors are famous for having locked cores.
No. The eMachines e627 will only physically accept an S1 socket processor. The Athlon X2 is an AM2 socket processor. You will need to go with an AMD Turion X2. And even then some Turion X2 processors may not be supported by the BIOS. The AMD Turion X2 TL-50 should be supported and should be free of heat issues as the dual core version of this laptop was shipped with this processor. I have read of users successfully upgrading to the AMD Turion X2 TL-58 and TL-64 without issue. However, that is not first hand knowledge on my part. I have the same laptop with the single core TL-20 and am about to upgrade to the TL-64.
There are many versions of the HP Pavilion desktop, some versions have Intel i5 and i7 Processors and some have AMD Athlon X2 to AMD Phenom Processors.
its basicly the same, but without L3, lower speeds
Yes. 64 KBytes for Data & 64 Kbytes for Instructions. It is the same as the Athlon 64 X2
You can find information on the AMD Athlon X2 series of processors online at the Wikipedia. Once on the website, type "Athlon 64 X2" into the search field at the top of the page and press enter to bring up the information.
Refurbished AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processors can be bought from a number of online retailers. The two most reliable sites that sell this product are Rakuten and eBay.
I always used to swear by AMD processors. They are good. However they have one major disadvantage over Intel processors - the Front Side Bus (FSB) speeds are considerably slower and can effectively halve the performance of your machine. AMD are still cheaper and up to the X2 / Duo's they appeared to be similar in performance for real applications.
Any processor that is an Intel Pentium III, Pentium 4, Pentium D, Core Solo, Core Duo, Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad, or Core i7, as well as most AMD Athlons, AMD Athlon 64, AMD Athlon 64 X2, and AMD Phenom.
No, it will definitely not fit. If you have an AM3+ CPU like for example an FX-8150 or an FX-6100, a Phenom X4 or even an AMD Athlon II X2, you have to use an AM3+ socket, or in the case of the Athlon II X2, or X3, or X4, or the Phenom family of CPU's you can use AM3+'s predecessor: the AM3, as well as the AM3+. However, the 939 is a much older socket which is not compatible with most modern day AMD CPU's.
