Let's be fair about this and look at some examples:

  • If the massacre by the Israelites led by Joshua, of thousands of innocent Canaanites, is a true history then the Israelites were guilty of crimes against humanity. Fortunately most scholars do not believe that the military invasion of Canaan occurred as described in The Bible.
  • The second-century-BCE invasions of Idumea, Samaria and Galilee were unprovoked attacks by the Maccabees, who had discovered that the Syrian empire was now powerless to hold them in check.
  • In 523 CE, a Jewish king slaughtered thousands of Christians at Najran in Yemen, a massacre stopped only by Ethiopian intervention.
  • Some would claim that the balance of wrong in the Israeli-Palestinian standoff is with the Israelis.

Over the course of history, Jews have proven no better and no worse than members of other religions. If Jews have more often been victims than oppressors, it is more because they have rarely held the balance of power.

NO. No group of people is "always" innocent. Jews, like any other group of people, have both light and dark inside of them. However, the major charges leveled at Jews, such as those that question their loyalty to the nations where they live, their control of finance or governments, their murder of innocents to satisfy blood rituals, etc. are all categorically false.

Of course not; and that is why we have rituals, prayers, and occasions in which we publicly and privately seek to atone for any sins. Moreover, one of the major functions of our prophets was to publicly point out any misdeeds. No human being is always innocent; and the claim to infallibility (by or for anyone) is a sure sign of megalomania and prevarication. The Hebrew Bible, because of its Divine origin, kowtows to no man, and prominently spotlights the errors or sins of even its greatest protagonists. In this regard it is unique in ancient literature. No one is immune to having his faults exposed: Abraham (Genesis 16:5), Reuben (Gen.ch.35), Simeon and Levi (Gen.ch.34 and 49), Judah (Gen.ch.38), Joseph's brothers (Gen.ch.37), Moses (Numbers ch.20), Aaron (Exodus 32:2-4), Samson (Judges 14:1-3), Eli's sons (1 Samuel 2:12), Samuel's sons (1 Samuel 8:1-3), Saul (1 Samuel ch.15), David (2 Samuel ch.11-12), Solomon (1 Kings ch.11), and many others.

Do innocent people deserve to die if accused of murder?

no, they have done nothing to hurt you so why kill them over nothing? If i accused you of killing my dog, but you never did, and i had no proof, why should you die? If i had false proof, then other's would figure out that on their own, and the innocent people would be proved innocent. As long as we have capital punishment, innocent people will always die for murders they are accused of but did not commit. Society has to decide if they deserve to do so.
