Yes. Jon and Kate Gosselin were divorced in 2009 after 5 seasons of their much loved reality television show 'Jon and Kate Plus 8."
In the wake of the divorce, Jon made his best effort to build a life out of the eye of the camera while Kate pursued media opportunities.
More background:
Papers to initiate divorce proceedings for Jon and Kate Gosselin were filed on June 22, 2009 and the divorce was finalized in the Pennsylvania courts on December 21, 2009.
The papers were filed in Montgomery County Pennsylvania, and are sealed.
During the divorce negotiations, the parents split their time with the children evenly. Both Jon and Kate Gosselin have expressed relief that the divorce proceedings are complete. However, it is safe to assume this is a difficult time for the entire family.
People Magazine was the first to announce the divorce papers and featured yet another interview with Kate Gosselin about the marriage and breakup on June 26, 2009.

Below are some commentaries and responses from WikiAnswers contributors prior to the divorce announcement:On their show, they constantly say how they love each other despite the bickering, and that they are "in this together."However their marriage has been plagued by rumors of Jon stepping out without Kate by his side. Some of these rumors have been confirmed by fan and papparazzi photos of Jon (drink in hand) with women other than Kate.
Three incidents that have had a lot of publicity:
April 2009, Incident 1
Jon was spotted leaving by the back door of a Legends, a bar near his home, at 2:30 am. See Related Links for the initial article from US Weekly.
April 2009, Incident 2
A video allegedly showing Jon Gosselin leaving the home of a 23-year-old school teacher was released by US Weekly Magazine.
Jon Gosselin emailed the following statement to US Weekly about the photos:"Like most people, I have male and female friends and I'm not going to end my friendships just because I'm on TV. However, being out with them late at night showed poor judgment on my part. What makes me sick is that my careless behavior has put my family in this uncomfortable position. My family is the most important thing in my life and it kills me that these allegations have hurt them."
February 2009 Incident
The rumors and articles are based on a brief visit that Jon Gosselin paid to his mother to help her out after some foot surgery. While visiting his mom, he did go out to a local restaurant/bar and did take pictures with fans. The excitement ends at that point, but the few pictures -- plus the brief break from his family -- have been cause for a huge volume of unsubstantiated speculation.
Until otherwise documented, the rumors about long-term separation are unsubstantiated.
The Gosselins have freely admitted their life is stressful on their marriage, and that they are working on it. Teasers for the Season 4 finale have made references to their marriage -- but very little actually came up during the final episode.
Is this a grab for ratings or more of the Gosselins' unvarnished reality they continue to share with the public? It is up to each individual to decide.
Until some facts come out... it is mostly rumor and speculation.
According to RadarOnline (see Related Links for the full article), a representative of the Gosselins stated:"It is certainly hurtful for people to spread rumors and lies about us. It certainly makes me reluctant to live my life like the average person would. This has made it very clear that the simplest innocent gesture -- such as taking a picture with a fan, can be taken out of context."As you can see on the show, I am not perfect, but I am a part of a loving family and couple."
Yes, I believe they are. On the season premiere Kate had said they had been struggling with their marriage for more than six months. Kate started crying and said the photo they had taken at the sextuplets 5th birthday party might be their last family photo ever. Also, Kate had mentioned very swiftly Jon and her had turned into two very different people, and it was very hard. Kate had said regardless, married or not, they would come together for the kids, and be friends.
