Yes, but they need good training from an early age if you are going to use them for hunting. They are friendly, outgoing animals. They should be looked after nicely and lovingly. They love you and you should also return the same. They (it's my thinking) are brilliant, cute dogs. They don't bite anyone, unless threatened or mistreated.

∙ 14y agoYes,it is a good dog!I got my dog Lily at a ashelter and the only thing she new is sit bot in a week I taught her how to lay down,shake a paw,heal and crawl!With no help from a trainer!

∙ 11y agoThey can be but don't "expect" this just because the dog is a Lab. You have to put in the time and have the patience and energy to teach the dog to be a good retriever.
