Some. Mayans have enhabited Mexico for thousands of years, including Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador. Nowadays, there are many people of these countries with Mayan ancestry but then, Mayans cannot be considered only Mexican; also Mexican people cannot be considered of just Mayan ancestry either.

The primary Mexican nation was the Mexica nation, which came later. They established their capital Mexico-Tenochtitlan and reigned an empire encompassing many other Native American groups under the umbrella Mexica, including many Maya groups.
